Napa Racing Kingman Street Drags V meetings and event added to the calendar

By retorq - Posted on 20 July 2008

Hey folks, on the right hand side you should find a new event calendar. I went ahead and scheduled ALL the upcoming committee meetings that will be held between now and the big event, Saturday September 20th and Sunday September 21st. Please take a moment and look this schedule over. All dates that are bolded have something going on. Remember, the meeting the night of September 18th is a mandatory meeting. You will be receiving staff shirts, credentials and food vouchers for the event at that time. If you can not make that meeting you MUST contact your department head to make arrangement to pick that up prior to the event. If you have not put your name on the volunteer list for shirt sizes you should contact me, Monica Jackson or Robin Butler to have your name added. If you are unsure if you are on the list contact one of us to check. thanks and I hope to see everyone there.

Here is a quick list:

Hi Retorq, My photography shooting partner Delia will not be able to make it to the Sep 18th meeting, will it be ok if I pick up her stuff along with mine? I think you have added us to the list with our shirt sizes. If not were both XX large photo nuts.

Cool with me Bubba, I'll make sure I note that. Thanks. Laughing out loud

I doubt my car will be ready so stop asking!!

Bubba anything we can do to accommodate our illustrious photographers Eye-wink

Thanks BigB Smiling
Well since your offering on September 20th and 21st I would like to put in for some nice overcast days and a Hoveround for Delia and myself..

Hey watch the request for that overcast, Puzzled dont want any one to get the wrong idea and maybe send some rain again.....I will see what I can do about that hoveround though....

I meant just some nice puffy white clouds floating by, No Rain Allowed!!
I was joking about the Hoveround, I can still walk around "Knock of wood"... but if you find one with flames on it and a modified motor that would be cool Smiling

I'll take a modified Hoverround Evil ....

We shall see what we can do Bubba....is it ok if it rolls instead of hovering????
Jimmyguy-350 sorry pal your on your own unless you fork out mucho cash Eye-wink

Hey Bubba I'm sure you can hit Robin up for a ride on the golf cart when she's not carting the trophy girls around. Smiling

Now why would Bubba want a ride when the trophy girls were not on the golf cart Eye-wink

Hmmm Forget about the hoveround BigB, riding around with Robin would be a lot more fun. I just noticed we have a Big Al and a Big B, I need more confusion ROFL.. Hey maybe Robin will let me take the Trophy Girls for a ride and sell some calendars and posters Evil

Gee Bubba, I'm way behind on this conversation......but I think it would be fun if you rode around with me AND the Trophy Girls. However...I may not be running around the grounds as much as usual, we will be doing on site photos and printing this year, I will have to babysit the booth, maybe you will have to babysit the T-Girls after all. Dang...I just know you hate that!!!!!!

See you at the Drags!!!

Hi Robin,

Hey don't feel alone, I'm always a few days to a week behind and I'm retired... That is great about the on site photos, it will be fun to see the photos and how it is done.

Sure it would be a thrill to babysit the trophy girls but no way will I be able to keep track of them. Yea right a slow walking old guy trying to keep up with a bunch of young gals.

I'm a quick walking young guy maybe i can take the job of keeping up with a "bunch of young gals" Evil ...

Oh wait I'll be racing....damn. oh well...

Hey, I was wondering about a burnout event at this year's streetdrag? Is it in the plan? Are diesel pickups eligible to drag? I've always wanted to burnout a Kenworth!!!

Yes there is a burnout contest ... a diesel pickup should have won last year. A Kenworth burnout would be fun ... it's not a pickup though. Eye-wink

I doubt my car will be ready so stop asking!!

I have a takeoff bed from a 65 c10 longbed you could bolt to the frame over the fifth wheel and then sir....it IS a pickup!

I say burn it out anyway...we don't have no stinking burn out rules Evil just burn out Eye-wink and make the crowd roar Laughing out loud but don't oil the track down like one did last year Sad
Now if you want to race that thing that may be a different story as to what class but I bet retorq would find you a place Cool

Uhhh truck class ... Puzzled

Trucks have feeling tooooooo Eye-wink

trucks are awesome Smiling ...

So does all of this mean I get to burn the Kenworth? I may need to borrow that pick up bed to make it a "pickup" Sounds like super fun I will see if I can smoke the tires on one or maybe both of the axles. We'll also bring some other fun toys for drag and burn out. Where do we sign up and how many do I have to bring to get a bulk rate?

Sure burn it out ... if it can. Eye-wink

Sign up is here: http://www.kingmanstreetdrags.com/registration

We don't have a bulk rate ... How many are you bringing??

I doubt my car will be ready so stop asking!!

Bring as many as you can remember all this is to build a facility in our community so the more funds we raise the better....

i will take 1 kwopr a 72 chev dirttrackr sb racetruck a couple of dodge pu diesels and a couple of jeeps,if my kids show up , when is the deadline for entry?

You can register at the event on Saturday ... or preregister here. There is no specific class for "burnouts" it's open to anyone that registers for one of the other classes. If you preregister make a note in the Accomplishments field that says you are here for the burnout only ...

I doubt my car will be ready so stop asking!!

Hey Great meeting last night...the numbers of volunteers is steadly growing and thats great to see.It sounds like our department heads are getting a good grasp on the tasks they have and everything is oming together as planned.
See everyone next Tuesday the 26th at the Grace Lutheran Church on Harrison for what is becoming a shorter number of meetings left al the time Smiling
