pure street class classifying
OK, first of all what class would the Shelby GT500's fall under? Allot of cars are coming from the factory like the Shelbys and Roush, even the Ford GT have Superchargers or Turbos.
If they do go into this catagory since they are Factory Equipped with a Supercharger, then wouldn't that also place a car like my Saleen with documented proof that everything that is on the car was placed there by Saleen who had Manufacturers status when my car was built and it was built there and meets or exceeds California Smog testing?
I know the answer may be to bring it to one of the tech meetings, but a little info beforehand would be ok as I have never done anything like this before. If i can get the time off I wouldn't mind making a couple of passes to get my feet wet for the first time.
Thank You,
Mike

A Saleen/Roush or Lingenfelter type car would probably be pure street according to our breakdowns...
You can make your times passes in Pure street and then switch to Hot Rod if that class better suits you or the car ...
We had a Viper in Pure Street I believe last year.
I doubt my car will be ready so stop asking!!

Thanks Retorq,
I know my little ol 4.6L 281ci might have a hard time against all the big blocks in the Hot Rod Class and the Pro Street Class, and of course almost everyone will have had more experience then I do on a track, so I'm just looking to maybe gain some experience and have fun is all.
Another question would be- Do you think it would be possible to be in both the car show and the racing events? Is there anyone else that may do both that you know of?
Thanks,
Mike
I see quite a few cars doing both the car show and the drags the only problem with that will be the traffic. But on the other side of the coin if you are in the car show once you have a parking spot it will be numbered for your car and will be there when you return. So you could leave and use the pits in between runs and return latter to your spot without any problems..........kind of cool I think.
